Support for Trans and Non-Binary Clients
I offer a warm, affirming, and non judgemental therapy space for trans, non-binary, and gender non conforming clients to explore identity, mental health, relationships, trauma, and emotional wellbeing safely and without fear of judgement.
AFFIRMING THERAPY FOR TRANS, NON-BINARY, AND GENDER NON CONFORMING CLIENTS
Being trans, non-binary, or gender non conforming in the current social and political climate can feel exhausting, frightening, and emotionally overwhelming. Many people are carrying the impact of constant public debate, hostility, misinformation, discrimination, and fear around their identities and existence.
For some people, recent events such as the UK Supreme Court ruling, increasing anti trans rhetoric, and what is happening politically in parts of the United States have intensified feelings of anxiety, hypervigilance, anger, grief, uncertainty, or emotional exhaustion. Living in environments where your identity is repeatedly questioned, politicised, or treated as controversial can have a significant impact on mental health and emotional safety over time.
You deserve a therapeutic space where your identity is respected from the very beginning, without needing to educate your therapist, justify your existence, or defend who you are.
HOW GENDER IDENTITY RELATED STRESS CAN AFFECT MENTAL HEALTH
Many trans, non-binary, and gender non conforming people experience ongoing stress linked to discrimination, rejection, misgendering, family dynamics, social exclusion, workplace difficulties, minority stress, trauma, or fear for personal safety. Over time, these experiences can affect self worth, relationships, emotional regulation, identity, and the ability to feel safe and settled within yourself.
Some people may be exploring questions around identity, transition, dysphoria, relationships, or belonging. Others may simply want support for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or life difficulties unrelated to gender. Whatever brings you to therapy, your experiences deserve care, respect, and understanding.
Many LGBTQ+ people also develop survival strategies such as masking, hypervigilance, people pleasing, emotional suppression, or constantly monitoring how they are perceived by others in order to stay emotionally or physically safe. Although these strategies can be protective, they can also become exhausting over time.
LGBTQ+ AFFIRMING THERAPY THAT RESPECTS YOUR IDENTITY
In therapy, I offer a warm, LGBTQ+ affirming, and non judgemental space where we can explore your experiences at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. My approach is grounded in respect, collaboration, curiosity, and a belief in your right to define your own identity and path.
Therapy can provide space to process difficult experiences, reconnect with yourself, build emotional resilience, strengthen self worth, and develop healthier ways of coping with stress, shame, fear, or emotional overwhelm. Above all, therapy should be somewhere you feel seen, respected, and emotionally safe.
My training with Pink Therapy and additional training with Gendered Intelligence help inform my work with trans, non-binary, and gender non conforming clients, alongside my wider commitment to LGBTQ+ affirmative practice and social justice.
I work with LGBTQ+ clients both online and in person from my practice in Manchester city centre.
